Generation Dallas is een nieuwe Antwerpse band, met een unieke sound. De drie songwriters van de groep bewerkten al snel elkaars doorleefde composities tot donkere pareltjes die 's nachts het mooist glinsteren.

In 2008 zochten en vonden ze een ritmesectie, die, als een flikkerende straatlantaarn de duistere zelfkant en de ontastbare onderstroom van melancholie van de arrangementen nog meer in het licht zet. Datzelfde jaar nam de band een erg succesvolle EP op, en traden ze aan op onze grootste festivals en donkerste kroegjes.

Zelf omschrijft de groep haar werk als Soul Opera – en dat etiket past misschien evengoed op de band op als naast het podium. Generation Dallas spreekt letterlijk de taal van de stad of ook de “voix de ville”.

1980: A bunch of too wealthy Texans reach n°1 in the US ratings. Living rooms all over the globe are dimly lit with the soft blue glow of passionate love, decadent luxury, incomprehensible plot twists, random shootings and quasi-permanent cliffhanging.

2008: A whole generation of once young and impressionable minds lives a life of passionate love, decadent luxury, incomprehensible plot twists, random shootings and quasi-permanent cliffhanging. Some of them gather in weekly sessions to discuss the trouble they have with grasping small-city reality and their inability to deal with it. Occassionaly they find it impossible to contain song of some kind. Blame it on the soap.

2008: gli un tempo giovani ed impressionabili spettatori della serie vivono amori appassionati, lussi (più che altro) decadenti, trame intricatissime (e altrettanto poco comprensibili). E si ritrovano settimanalmente per discutere della propria incapacità a raffrontarsi con la piccola realtà cittadina che li ospita. Talvolta, risulta loro impossibile contenere tutto questo in una canzone. Maledette soap…
